This policy explains what personal data Vantar collects when you use our website, our app and the venue workspace, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. We process personal data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
What we collect
If you book as a player
- Your name, email address and phone number.
- Your bookings: the venue, facility, date, time, price and booking code, and whether each was paid, cancelled or attended.
- If you join or organise a game, the games you are part of and the first name other players see.
- If you allow it on your phone, your location, used to show venues near you.
- Notification settings and a device token if you turn on notifications in the app.
If you run or work at a venue
- Your name, email address, WhatsApp number and a password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Business and venue details: names, address, photos, hours, prices and facilities.
- The bank account details for payouts, which our payment provider confirms with your bank.
- A record of the bookings and changes made on the desk, including which team member made them.
Payments
Payments are made through Paystack. Your card or bank details go to Paystack, not to us. We receive the payment reference and its status so we can confirm your booking.
When you visit the website
Our servers keep standard logs (such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to keep the service running and secure. We use cookies only to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising trackers.
Why we use it
- To make and manage bookings, take payments and pay venues (performing our contract with you).
- To send booking confirmations, reminders, receipts and account emails.
- To review venues before they go live and keep the platform safe from fraud and misuse (our legitimate interests).
- To meet legal, tax and accounting duties.
- With your consent, for anything else we ask you about first. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
- The venue you book with, which sees your name, contact details and booking so it can host you.
- Paystack, to process payments, refunds and payouts.
- Service providers who run parts of Vantar for us, such as hosting, databases, email delivery and image storage, under contracts that limit how they use the data.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal data. Some providers store data outside Nigeria; where they do, we rely on the safeguards the Act requires.
How long we keep it
We keep account data while your account is open. Booking and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, usually six years, then deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your personal data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent. Email support@vantarsports.com. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Children
Vantar is not meant for children under 13. A parent or guardian should make bookings for younger players.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and tell you about important changes by email or in the app.
